BLOODBATH - Prologue
BLOODBATH
Prologue.
The rain beat down on the helmets of a band of soldiers, marching through the broad passageways of the complex they so dutifully protected. Amongst the soldiers, a young man named Bobby spoke to the general in front.
“S-sir…” Bobby muttered.
The general glanced back, and spoke with a grizzly voice. “Yes, soldier?”
Bobby's head hung down with an aura of depression. “I miss my mom…My sister….My little brother…I miss my room, the comfort of family…I'm not cut out for this….”
“Private.” The general placed his hand on Bobby's frail shoulder. “You are not going to quit. You've come this far. Once, you were just an engineer working in the backlines. But now? You're amongst the elite. You're stronger than you think, and you will realize that. That's an order.”
Bobby looked up, with tears in his eyes. “Thank you…I…I will fight!! I'm not going to back down, now or ever!!”
The general grinned. “Thats the spirit, private. Now, let's get back to it-”
Just as he finished his affirmations, a dagger lodges itself straight through his helmet and into his brain. The soldiers in line are aghast in shock and horror, and immediately aim their heavy weapons into the direction the dagger was thrown from, the forest that surrounds the complex entirely.
The only soldier that didn't aim was Bobby, as he is now dead from a heart attack brought about by the general's death.
Two dim lights appear in the thicket of the forest. Slowly, they grow in size and brightness-revealing that they are the pupils of the culprit behind their leader's slaughter. It was none other than Abbadon, the state-wide renowned career criminal.

She grinned with her gnarly teeth, walking confidently towards the newfound band of whimpering cowards. Her smooth, purple and pinkish skin glistened beneath the frigid rain.
“Alright, who's ready to do the thing?”. Abbadon smirks as she speaks. “You know, one of you steps up to be a hero, everything seems great, and then I rip your head off and forcefeed it to your comrades? No? Alright then, I'll give ya another option.”.
She reaches over her back, and wields a bright orange spear. Aiming it at the foes in front of her, she speaks again. “Get your asses in the nearest means of transportation and drive your sorry selves back home! Get a new profession, too.”
The soldiers scatter like bugs, tripping over each other and fumbling to make it to safety. Abbadon smiled.
“Now….” She ponders. “Where's that god damn fourth crystal? Paydays gonna be a whole lot sweeter with it, if you catch my drift-” She instantly realizes everyone around her is gone. “Fuck. Gotta stop doing that….”
The purple vagrant wanders into the center of the compound. The rest of the inhabitants of the complex ran away with the soldiers scared off. (They didn't want to be left out.) Inside the compound she sees multiple large buildings, yet one sticks out to her.
[“CRYSTAL STORAGE! NO TOUCHING!”]
“Hm!” Abbadon pipes up. “Today's my lucky day, hahah!”. Wasting no time, she barges through the door below the sign. The inside is seemingly quite simple, only withholding a small blue gem that's emanating a radiant glow of energy.
Abbadon snatches up the glowing rock, as anyone would. Immediately afterwards, though, a titanium slab slides over the exit, locking the thief in. A red alarm blares ear piercingly loud, with blinding lights flashing. Abbadon whips out her spear and adopts a combat stance, assessing the room around her. Yet, that couldn't protect her from the coming events. With a sudden screech, the metal walls fold in on themselves. Abbadon narrowly misses getting crushed, being able to leap between the folding walls and out of the building.
The walls kept folding, and folding, and folding. Eventually, the once 10 story tall building is now a 15 ft box. The box begins to unfurl, revealing a. pair of massive mechanical arms, legs smashing through the bottom too. The box wraps around the arms and legs, forming a set of tan colored armor. The sign that was originally on the building is now a glowing eye, peering down at Abbadon.
“Daw, fuck. Alright, big guy, you wanna go at it? THEN LETS G-” Abbadon promptly gets knocked across the complex by the metal beast, tumbling over herself. She hops up to her feet and dusts herself off, before hacking up some blood. The thief looks the robot up and down, assessing its structure.
“That eye….It's made outta glass! I can blind it!’ Abbadon thinks. She readies her spear, and sprints towards the Goliath. Her path is that of danger, as the titan fires a gargantuan laser beam from its pal., which barely misses Abbadon. She keeps running, as fast as her body could handle. As Abbadon approaches, she leaps up, spear aimed toward the machine. The spear digs through the machine's eye and straight through its wiring, instantaneously causing it to detonate in a catastrophic explosion.
All that's left of the complex is a massive crater, Abbadon laid out on the ground. The arm that was carrying her spear has been reduced to a puddle of what was gore and bones. She groans in a mix of aggravation and pain.
“GggAHH!! Daamnn itt….Asshole!” She rolls around and pushes herself up with the one arm she has. Abbadon stares down at the remains of her arm.
“Hmmph. Alright, come on, gimmie that back…” Abbadon closes her eyes and focuses. She focuses on her body, her heart, and the form she desires. As she does, the leftovers of her arm begin to crawl up Abbadon's leg, squirming to her chest and wrapping around to her missing arm. It forms the bones, then flesh, then muscles, then the skin, making up her arm again.
“Heh, there we go…” Abbadon checks her jacket pocket, finding the blue crystal completely unharmed. She smirks, and turns to leave the compound, content with how her mission went.
